I grew up in the Lake County area, graduating from Grayslake High School, then University of Illinois, SIU School of Law and finally Sofia University. My law career began as a general practitioner, working in criminal law, marital law, environmental law and probates while living in Washington State.

Currently, I work at a university in administration and I am also a professor at a local community college teaching Crisis Intervention Training for police officers; I have taught alongside a previous State’s Attorney on drug prevention, and in local schools on suicide prevention. I am a Lake Villa Trustee, have been involved in my daughters' high school boosters club and participating on bias panels. My church has always been a big part of my life; I have taught Sunday School, Vacation Church School, youth groups, and Greek Dance. Furthermore, my family, including my mother, father, and sister have been devoted to gathering food, clothing and other donations for 500 homeless students in Lake County.

I have a passion for serving my community and am tireless in my pursuit for making this area the best place to live. Living in Lake Villa with my husband of twenty years and my teen daughters has been a blessing. In my free time I enjoy hiking in our beautiful nature preserves in McHenry and Lake County.
  • We must secure women's reproductive rights, we CAN NOT and MUST NOT go back to women dying from back alley abortions.
  • Many Illinoisans are being crushed under the burden of the high cost of medical care and prescriptions-I will fight to lower these costs when I go to Springfield.
  • Local businesses are the backbone of our economy and we must do all we can to support them; with tax incentives, low cost loans and grants.
I am passionate about making our community a healthy, safe and supportive place for our youth to grow and thrive. We must do this not only through a strong education system, but also through after school initiatives that will help our youth to feel a sense of belonging and efficacy. By creating mentoring opportunities for our youth, they will know that they have an important role to play in shaping our brilliant future here in Lake and McHenry county.
