I'm Allison Heyward, and I've called Guadalupe County home since 2010. My husband Ferrando is a retired US Navy veteran. We've been married for 34 years and have two adult children, a son-in-law, and three grandchildren.

I'm a lifelong Texan who grew up in Houston, with formative years on my family's farm. Those early mornings working the land taught me the value of hard work and taking care of neighbors, lessons that matter as our county faces rapid growth and infrastructure challenges.

I was a stay-at-home mom raising our children and later worked as a substitute teacher before entering public service. I've served as Schertz City Councilwoman for seven years, bringing current hands-on experience. I hold GFOAT budget certification and served on the TML Budget and Audit Committee and TMLIRP Board. I served as TML President in 2024-2025, representing over 1,100 cities statewide.

I'm a conservative Republican, founding member and secretary of Guadalupe County Conservative Republicans, and four-time delegate to the Texas Republican Party Convention since 2018.

My faith is the foundation of everything I do. I'm active in my church and learning sign language for outreach. Outside of public service, I enjoy spending time with family, crafting, gardening, woodworking, and reading.

I'm running because our county is at a critical moment. Rapid growth, aging infrastructure, and flooding threats demand current, proven experience.
  • Protect Our Community: As your commissioner, I'll fight to ensure our sheriff's department, constables, firefighters, and volunteer firefighters have the staffing, equipment, and resources they need to keep our community safe. I'm tough on crime and believe in backing our law enforcement with the tools they need to do their jobs. Supporting public safety is essential as call volumes increase and response times matter more than ever. I've already proven my commitment in Schertz by advocating for first responder pay restructuring, supporting grant applications, and championing safety infrastructure like fixing missing sidewalks so kids can walk to school safely. I'll bring that same dedication to our county.
  • Modernize County Government: As your commissioner, I'll push for modern solutions to make government work better for you. That means digital communication so you know what's happening in real time, grant tracking software to capture funding before deadlines pass, data-driven budget analysis to eliminate waste, and modern technology that improves service delivery. My service on the Texas Municipal League Budget and Audit Committee and TMLIRP Board has shown me what works across 1,100 cities in Texas. Our county can't afford to wait while government stays stuck in the past.
  • Deliver Conservative Leadership: As your commissioner, I'll fight for fiscal responsibility and true transparency. That means a website where you can easily follow the money and see how every tax dollar is spent. I don't do woke policies. I share Republican values of limited government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility. I'm a founding member and secretary of Guadalupe County Conservative Republicans and four-time delegate to the Texas Republican Party Convention. I've proven my commitment in Schertz by making tough decisions supporting critical infrastructure while finding creative ways to save money.
-Strategic Planning: Long-term planning is essential to manage growth effectively and ensure our county is prepared for the future.

-Budget Management: Fiscal responsibility and alternative funding sources to minimize tax burden while meeting our community's needs.

-Water Security and Property Rights: Through regional partnerships and long-term planning, our county must secure water resources and protect property rights as we grow.

-Veterans and Military Families: Supporting our military families is deeply personal to me. Our veterans have earned our respect and the services they need.
