I live in Cornville with my husband Josh, who works as an auto mechanic in Fairfield, and our two children who attend local schools. I decided late last year to pursue work in the Special Education field, after my youngest child was diagnosed with Autism.

Labor and Maine's working class have been important to me since childhood, when my mother was a homemaker and my father worked factory jobs. I saw the difference in working conditions, pay, and respect on the job from employers who were unionized vs those who were not, that's why I commit to supporting the right for you to unionize at your workplace too.

For over a decade I worked within Maine's Medicaid system (MaineCare), the last 8 years as a State of Maine employee, and know first hand how much work there is to do to improve access to quality health and mental health care in Maine. A highlight of my time as a State of Maine employee was rising the ranks of leadership in my former labor union, most recently serving as Vice-president.

We are at a pivotal moment in our nation's history where we cannot sit idly by and allow those who do not value equity, justice and democracy lead at any level. I will work with the people in my district by returning your phone calls and emails, listening to your concerns, and engaging on legislation that matters to you, the people of Cornville, Madison, and Norridgewock.
  • We need a working class voice in Augusta that represents the many living in poverty and middle class, not the wealthy few.
  • We need to continue working together to strengthen our communities by recognizing our individual equity.
  • We need continued investments in direct care so our friends, neighbors, and their parents and children can thrive.
Healthcare, including mental and behavioral health

Direct Support, including childcare and residential treatment
Holding major corporations accountable for their fair tax liabilities
Reducing bureaucracy in business licencing, and other State run programming.

Investment in support and education for parents with disabilities.
I look up to the women in history who were fearless in their pursuits for a better world, women like Mother Jones (Mary Harris) who helped end children working and dying in coalmines, along with the Eleanor Roosevelt's and Francis Perkins of the world (no relation) who parlayed their positions in society and government to make systems that have had lasting effects on society today with the implementation of worker safety standards and financial dignity during the first great depression. These are women my great-grandmother looked up to, and she was the best woman I ever met. She worked hard to raise her children, adored her grandchildren, always reminded folks to vote.
To listen, and involve constituents in the bill processes for changes they want to make. To be honest and transparent, elected officials also have a fiduciary responsibility with tax payer dollars and should advocate for wise spending and achievements in efficiency that are not a burden to the workers who are charged with implementation of service to the State of Maine.

My very first job was at Squire Hill Plaza Laundry in Winthrop, Maine. I worked there for about a year before accepting a cashier position at Greene IGA, both while still in High School.
Take Back The Power - The Interrupters
I grew up in poverty, I was a single mother living paycheck to paycheck in my early 20's and know how difficult it can be to obtain safe, affordable, housing and why jobs that have fair pay and good healthcare benefits are so important. I was driven to help other Mainers obtain the resources they needed after seeing friends and family struggle, some taking their own life in the fight just to keep a roof over their head and food on the table.
One of positivity, trust, and honor in knowing you are working towards the same goals.
Our single greatest challenge is respect. Our State is not alone where hatred has been given multiple platforms to fester, spew, and spread in a pandemic worse than COVID-19. We have allowed injustices like the horrible slaughter of school children and public minorities and an insurrection on our Capital; and have neighbors who cheer these acts on as a sign of loyalty and high regard. We cannot allow this to continue, we must be stewards of true integrity and perseverance towards a just society that has common goals of safety and security of our children and ourselves to be free of hatred and bigotry to live our lives in peace and work for true prosperity.
One of the best things about a citizen legislature is the opportunity to represent all walks of life, bringing unique experiences and perspectives.
