I am a fourth generation Staten Islander who has practiced law for over 25 years as a trial lawyer, litigator and business attorney. I have been a small business owner since 2006 when I founded my solo law practice. In over 14 years that practice has grown to become one of Staten Island's most prestigious law firms. A past President of the Richmond County Bar Association, I have devoted my career to seeking justice for my clients. From individuals to small businesses to large institutions, banks and trade groups, my service to the people of Staten Island to ensure that their rights have been vigorously and fairly represented has established my reputation for hard work, humility and legal knowledge. Outside of my professional life, I have devoted my time to numerous community organizations and groups and have volunteered my time, pro bono, to numerous not for profit organizations and people in need. My wife Laurie and I are proud of our children Andrew and Sarah, our professional success and look forward to my election to the Civil Court, where I can continue to serve the people of Staten Island and continue my career in the law.
  • Experience. I have over 25 years of experience working in the Courts handling the matters which I will hear as a Civil Court Judge. I bring practical knowledge of the law to this important position.
  • Integrity. I have built a reputation for fairness, hard work and solid judgment. My character and qualifications have been approved by the Richmond County Bar Association and the SI Women's Bar Association.
  • Never a Politician. I come to this position without a political background but rather as someone who believes that politics has no place in the Courts. Equal justice under the law is crucial for the people of Staten Island.
As a judicial candidate I am not permitted to share my personal political views. I do believe that the Courts in this City, State and Country are an important branch of government and that Judges are charged with maintaining the dignity and independence of the Courts, which should operate free from politics to ensure the fair administration of justice.
I admire the people of Staten Island who go out to work every day and do the things that make Staten Island a wonderful place to live and work. My mother was a New York City school teacher and my father worked in law enforcement for New York State. I draw inspiration from every day people who dedicate themselves to their families and communities.
To fairly administer justice to the litigants who appear in Court.
The United States Bicentennial celebration in New York City. I was eight years old.
I started delivering newspapers when I was about eleven years old. I kept that paper route until I was able to get working papers at age 15 and started to work as a stock person at Kresges on Forest Avenue.
I believe that a judge should hear the facts as presented to him or her fairly without preconceptions or prejudice. The law should be applied to those facts and a fair decision should be reached.
There are too many to mention here. I am always impressed by the judges who do the hard work of running the trial level courts of this City and State.
Yes. Empathy and understanding are essential tools in a Judge's ability to properly determine the facts of a case and assess the credibility of witnesses.
Yes. I have been rated "Approved" by the Richmond County Bar Association and the LGBT Bar Association of New York. I have been rated "Recommended" by the Staten Island Women's Bar Association. My application for review is pending before the Bar Association of the City of New York.
Yes. I served for many years as a member of the Richmond County Bar Association's Judiciary Committee. These ratings are the product of the work of lawyers who donate their time to interview lawyers, judges and others as to the candidate's ability and temperament. They also review the written work of the candidate, his or her academic credentials and their record. They also personally interview the candidate as to his or her record and qualifications.
