Alma C. Roberson (Democratic Party) is a judge for Division VII of the New Mexico 2nd Judicial District Court. She assumed office on February 5, 2021. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.
Roberson (Democratic Party) ran in a special election for the Division VII judge of the New Mexico 2nd Judicial District Court. She won in the special general election on November 8, 2022.
She was appointed to the court in January 2021 by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
Biography
Education
Roberson earned her law degree at the University of New Mexico School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to serving as a judge, Roberson was an attorney with the Law Offices of the Public Defender. She first worked in the Metro Division and later moved to the Juvenile Division. For two years, she served as a board member on Bernalillo County’s Reducing Racism and Ethnic Disparities Committee. In 2019, Roberson was selected to participate in Georgetown Law’s and the National Juvenile Defender Center's Ambassadors for Racial Justice Program. She has also served on the Juvenile Drug Treatment Court National Project Advisory Board for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.[1]
