Hasse ran for election in the 2012 election for Idaho State Senate District 9. Hasse mounted a successful write-in campaign for the Democratic nomination, earning 124 votes. She was defeated by incumbent Monty J. Pearce (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]

Hasse ran in the 2012 election for Idaho House of Representatives District 9B. Hasse ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 15, 2012, but withdrew from the race on March 29.[2] Incumbent Judy Boyle ran against Kendall Nelson-Jeffs, Jeri Soulier and Daniel S. Weston in the Republican primary. Mary Sue Roach ran as an independent.[3]
