Alma Hernandez is a judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California. She assumed office on March 30, 2023. Her current term ends on January 6, 2031.

Hernandez won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California outright in the primary on March 5, 2024, after the primary and general election were canceled.

She was appointed to the Superior Court on March 30, 2023, by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) to replace Fred W. Slaughter.[1]

Biography

Alma M. Hernandez was born in El Centro, California. She earned a bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach, in 1998 and a law degree from Whittier Law School in 2002. Her career experience includes working as a deputy district attorney.[2]

I am a married mother to 5 sons who were educated in public schools. I have been rated “exceptionally well qualified” by the OC Bar Association and believe that my life experience, coupled with my work experience, make me the most qualified candidate to fill this judicial office. I have been a resident of Orange County for over 22 years and believe that keeping our community safe should be our priority.
