I am a husband and the proud father to our beautiful son. I hold an undergraduate degree from the University of Houston-Victoria and I am currently finishing my Masters degree at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. I am running because I believe that education is the great equalizer and school board meetings should be a place to exchange ideas and discuss policies that will benefit our children, not put them in the middle of conflict.
- Expand our trade programs and extend even more partnerships with jobs across the city that will allow children to jump into an internship while they continue their education after high school.
- We can bring more money into Widefield without raising taxes via unclaimed grant money in Colorado. This can be used for a variety of new programs like teacher housing vouchers, after school programs etc.
- To give parents assurance that there is a sensible human being running that puts the children first.
I am passionate about education and economic policy. I want to solve our problems without raising taxes and cultivating policies that allow students to thrive. No matter what issues that we are facing in schools, I am a firm believer that it starts with building an environment children can thrive in and money to fund it.
Bobby Kennedy. Bobby did the right thing, not because he was told, but because he knew it was the right thing to do. I strive to be like him in my personal life because I believe that we should not look for the Republican answer or Democrat answer, but the right answer.
It is not political by any means, but it is a beautiful book that speaks to me a lot and that book is titled "To Selena, with love." It reminds me that life is short, do good in the world and life is about the moments that take our breath away.
I am pragmatic. I don't favor a big government or a small government, but an effective government. A government that works for the people and by the people. I believe everyone has a voice and we should be bringing more chairs to the table when it comes to ideas and not excluding people because of a party label.
Honesty, Trust and Compassion.
I am dedicated, honest and trustworthy. I am here to make a positive impact and to make progress in our community.
Establishing a vision, community support , leadership and advocacy.
I want to leave this world a better place then when I arrived. I want my son to know that I did everything I could to make life better for him.
It was 9/11 and I just turned 12 at the time.
"To Selena With Love"
It reminds me that the time here on this earth is short and we should take the time to enjoy life with the people that matter the most.
I always thought it would be cool to be a character in Harry Potter.
"Here comes the sun" by the Beatles.
Coming to the realization that not everyone is my friend and not everyone has your best interest at heart.
The primary responsibilities of School Board members are to establish a vision for the district, support our children/school staff, and to be community leaders and advocates.
All residents in Widefield School District 3
By listening to the people on the front lines, school staff, and providing the school staff with what they tell me they need to do their jobs. I will diligently listen to parents and the concerns that they have with the district to ensure that they have a voice on the board.
I will be holding frequent public meetings to give all people a chance to speak with me and exchange with me ideas on how to make our schools a better place.
Traditionally, we measure success via test scores. However, I believe that there are other ways, in addition, to measure this such as: how many students graduate, how many students gained apprenticeships, internships, college and trade school acceptance etc. When it comes to teaching methods, I feel this is best left up to the educators. I will be in contact with our teachers to see what it is they need me to do to help them.
I feel one small way that I can be of service is to expand our programs at the mill with even more internships and to update some of our trade classes with newer material to give our students things like modern engines to work on in the automotive program or the newest equipment to train with in other trades. My vision for Widefield is to be known for academic excellence and trade school excellence. I want develop a program where industries are wanting our kids after high school to provide them with jobs and a pathway to continuing their education.
I think it is important to examine or budget to ensure that we are not wasting money and that we are applying for every grant possible. I feel that I can increase our budget without raising our hard earned tax payers money.
I believe that we need to protect our children's mental health and personal safety. It does not have to be a this or that. We can do both and I believe we should do both by providing mental health professionals and personal security to our students.
We need more help in our schools, but we need money to do this. I will do my part with balancing the budget, allocating excess funds and combining that with potential excess grant money to make this happen.
The state of politics in the United States.
None at this moment, but if this changes I will update this.
It starts with all students feeling accepted. I think that if we have a schools system where all children are well fed and they feel accepted at school, then that will allow them to have greater success. I want all children and parents to feel comfortable knowing that Widefield will have an all inclusive environment where every child is accepted as they are.
I felt like this was a daunting task to handle and there were a lot of opinions about how to handle the pandemic. Widefield provided the option of choice, parents could send their kids in or keep them home for students with compromised immune systems. They were transparent and showed the community the steps that would be taken in event of break outs such as cleanings that would be done, if they would close schools etc. They had to work with the limited data they had and I feel they were looking out for our community.
I will be in communication with parents in my district on a weekly basis via news letters to let them know what we did this week in Widefield. Granted there are some weeks with not much to tell, but I feel parents will appreciate that open lines of communication that I will be establishing. I want parents to have my number saved so that they can call me personally when they have an issue.
It is all about economics. Staff must be able to afford to live here and the sad truth is that it is getting harder to do so. I see an opportunity in grants. There is a significant amount of money at the state level that is waiting to be claimed. I plan to be an active grant writer in Widefield to bring us money without raising taxes and using that money towards staff retention.

I believe that everyday people deserve to be represented by everyday people. I see the underlying causes of the symptoms we are perceiving in Colorado, and want to address them in a way that benefits everyday people.
- Standing up against corporations who are coming in and taking our homes. Homes are for people, not corporations.
- United we bargain, divided we beg. I support workers rights via union support.
- Education is deeply important to me. I support teachers and expanding trade programs throughout our state.
I am deeply passionate about the following policy areas: Social, Economic, and Education
Robert F. Kennedy. I think that I am a lot like RFK because of our passion to serve other people. I like RFK because he was a very well-off individual who understood people who were not like him. He had compassion when he didn't have to for people who were less fortunate than himself. He was very humble and dedicated to improving the lives of all people.
My political philosophy is that I am neither for a big government nor a little government. I am for an effective government that is for the people and by the people. I want to make sure that all people are being represented and that we are not taking away the rights of the people. I strive for equity because there are some people born ahead in life and we should make sure that we are giving everyone a fair shot. I believe in a government that is catered to building the economy from the ground up and not the top down.
Ethics is my biggest concern when it comes to elected officials. I believe when a government is truthful and transparent, it builds trust and confidence between the constituents and the government.
The second is compassion and respect. This is because we are making laws that affect a variety of people and we need to make sure that we are making legislation that is not harming anyone and respecting the rights of ALL people.
To be truthful, respectful, honest, compassionate, and show integrity.
Turning the American dream of homeownership into the American Reality for as many people as possible. I want to move as many people up the economic ladder as possible and give people the help they need to better themselves and their children. Whenever it is my time to depart this world, I want to leave it in a better place than what I was brought into.
The World Trade Center attack. I was 12.
It was a fast-food job where I was a cashier. I believe it was roughly 2 years give or take.
"To Selena With Love." This is because it is a story about the remarkable life of my favorite singer, Selena Quintanilla through the eyes of her husband, Chris Perez. It is a story about a beautiful soul who was taken away too soon. What is intriguing about this story is that we get to see her life through someone else's eyes and we see how bright her light truly shined.
"My money don't jiggle jiggle it folds."
I believe the statehouse is the voice of the people. The Governor is there to listen to the legislature and in times of crisis, take the lead and help make decisions that will benefit the people.
Housing affordability and water.
A benefit would be that the legislation that was passed would more align with the will of the majority of the people and a lower chance of coming to a deadlock with another chamber. A negative could be that bills may not be properly debated and the voice of the minority could be drowned out.
Any experience is a plus, but not required.
Yes, as Representatives I believe that it is important to work across aisles when possible to make laws that have the needs of the people as the main priority.
a non-partisan redistricting committee with multiple public input hearings.
Business Affairs & Labor, Education, and Energy & Environment.
At this time, I am only interested in making positive changes here in Colorado at the State House.
I was door knocking and a Vietnam veteran opened the door. He explained to me that he had been battling the side effects of agent orange from the war. He stated that the VA was giving him issues because he was not physically in Vietnam, but was very close. He claimed to have been exposed to it and was seeking help for years, but no representatives did much for him.
This was impactful because it reminded me that there are a lot of people who need help and my potential future platform can be used to make an impact.
Yes, we are elected to represent the people. In the event of a national emergency, we need to make sure everyone is safe and avoid as much chaos as possible.
I believe that it is necessary for people to come together in the name of helping the greater good.
