Life long Huntingtonian that is passionate about this state, education, workers rights, unions and healthcare.
  • I'm pro-teachers and education. WV isn't funding education enough and we need to change that.
  • Unions and Workers Rights are at the forefront of creating lasting change here. We need good jobs to get folks to want to live and work here.
  • Healthcare is a right. We need to ensure that WV has access to Healthcare for everyone. That includes everything from ensuring affordable health care to abortion.
Education and Women's Healthcare are top priorities for me.
Being available, listening to constituents, and reading the bills. Also working together to achieve the betterment of constituents.
Thinking Big. We need to see the big picture. We can't fix everything over night or by passing one bill. We need to look long term at how we fix what's broken in this state.
The Columbine shooting. I remember how terrifying it was and how it changed my Education experience. It happened my Junior year of High School. Next would be 2001 and 9/11.
My very first job was Farley's Hot Dog stand in Milton, WV. I worked in the kitchen.
A Governor that supports and a Legislature that produces legislation that helps the people of WV, not just passing emotionally charged fluff bills that do nothing.
Declining population. If we don't fix it soon we're going to be in for trouble especially in the more rural areas of the state. But we can't fix a declining population with birth rates. We need a fix now, and that's getting people to move here and drawing in industry and a competitive job market.
It's very important. I studied political science at Marshall University, I'm Chair for the Cabell County DEC. Having knowledge of how to write a bill is imperative if you want to be successful.
Bob Beach and Mike Caputo. Everytime I emailed or called I got a response from both of them.
Yes. Right now the majority of folks in WV live with food insecurities. People have change their purchasing habits, their diet, and they're concerned about if they can afford groceries or not.
Only in absolute emergency situations. Legislature needs to do their job and not pass the buck to the governor.
Right now what is most important for my area is to fix our problems with levying and ensuring our Parks and Libraries are adequately funded.
Healthcare and Education
We need to ensure money is being well spent. We almost experienced a 265 million dollar clawback of Education funds from the Federal Government because we didn't fund Education enough. We have to ensure we're doing the right thing.
