Amanda Crawford
Amanda Crawford is the Texas Commissioner of Insurance. Crawford assumed office on February 2, 2025. Crawford's current term ends on February 1, 2027.
Greg Abbott (R) appointed Crawford Texas Commissioner of Insurance on January 8, 2026, to replace Cassie Brown (Nonpartisan).[1]
Biography
Amanda Crawford earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Texas and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Her career experience includes serving as the chief information officer for the State of Texas, executive director of the Department of Information Resources, and deputy attorney general for administration and general counsel at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. Crawford has been affiliated with the State Bar of Texas and the National Association of State Chief Information Officers.[2]
