Biography
Karpus graduated from Valley Forge High School in 2003. In 2011, she opened a small business, Hai Bales Photography, LLC. Karpus has been affiliated with the Parma Community School District Focus on the Future District Operations and Facilities Usage Committee, the STEM Advisory Council, the Parma Early Childhood PTA as a district liaison and member of the scholarship committee, and the Parma Cooperative Preschool as a parent liaison. The 2017 election was her first time running for office.[1]

Three of five seats on the Parma City School District Board of Education in Ohio were up for at-large general election on November 7, 2017. Newcomers Amanda Karpus, John Schweitzer, and Steven Vaughn defeated incumbents Michael Johns and Kevin Kussmaul and challengers Alison Giraldo and Tammie Sebastian.[2][3]
