I’m Amanda Marzullo, a civil rights attorney and community leader running for Travis County Commissioner in Precinct 2. I previously led an organization that beat Ken Paxton at the U.S. Supreme Court - twice. I’ve led legislative efforts to reform Texas’ death penalty laws, helping cut executions in our state to a fraction of what they once were. For decades, I’ve fought powerful interests on behalf of working families. Travis County deserves leadership that is proactive, transparent, and unafraid to confront injustice - lowering costs, expanding opportunity, and protecting our civil liberties.
  • Travis County families are feeling squeezed by rising housing costs, property taxes, and everyday expenses – and while the County should be picking up missing pieces of city spending and state theft from AISD’s property taxes, Travis County left federal grants on the table, granted millions in property tax rebates to Elon Musk, and have abandoned opportunities to support programs for everyday residents. I’m running to expand affordable housing, protect renters and homeowners, and invest in infrastructure that keeps people safe during floods and extreme weather. The county government should use every available tool to keep people housed, strengthen our safety net, and make sure growth benefits workers, families, and communities.
  • County government is often the last line of defense when state leadership fails. I will prioritize smart public health investment, expand access to civil legal services, and ensure county departments are equipped to respond quickly to crises — from extreme weather to economic downturns. Precinct 2 deserves leadership that anticipates challenges instead of reacting to them. I will focus on durable systems, clear performance metrics, and policies that create long-term stability for working families.
  • Travis County oversees billions in taxpayer dollars. That money should deliver measurable results for residents - not quiet deals that lack transparency or enforcement. I will ensure transparency and accountability with public funds, requiring clawback provisions when corporations fail to meet wage or safety standards, and ensure environmental compliance is real, not symbolic. Economic development must produce good jobs, protect public health, and generate long-term community benefit. If public dollars are invested, the public should see clear returns.
Housing affordability and land use reform; expanding healthcare access and protecting public health; economic opportunity for working families; disaster resilience and flood mitigation; civil rights and voting access; criminal justice reform focused on safety and fairness; and building a county government that is transparent, modern, and responsive to the community.
