Amber Shultz is the Kansas Secretary of Labor. She assumed office on March 31, 2021. Her current term ends on January 11, 2027.
Gov. Laura Kelly (D) appointed Shultz to the position on January 29, 2021, to replace Acting Secretary Brett Flachsbarth. She served in an acting capacity until the Kansas State Senate confirmed her appointment on March 31, 2021.[1][2]
Biography
Amber Shultz earned a bachelor's degree and M.B.A. from the University of Kansas.[1] Shultz's career experience includes working as the general manager of the Municipal Services & Operations Department for the City of Lawrence, as the deputy director of public works and a technical support division manager for the City of Topeka, Kansas, and as an assistant IT director and a GIS developer with Jackson County, Missouri.[3]
