I am a mother of two and I live in Putnam County, TN. I am family oriented, always striving to learn new things, an avid reader and an animal lover. I spent the majority of my twenties raising my children, working my way through school to become a Certified Surgical Tech, and doing everything in my power to ensure a better quality of life for me and my kids. I have lived the experiences and hardships that so many other Tenesseans are currently facing. Continuously fighting against unnecessary obstacles to the resources essential for my family's well-being ultimately led to periods of homelessness, and difficult choices between keeping a job and adequately caring for my children with special needs. I turned my experiences into action through advocacy work through non-profit agencies, and volunteer work. Now more than ever, I see the need to step into the political arena and be in the spaces where the policies affecting the people I care for are enacted.
  • I am running because too many Tennesseans face barriers to access the resources that are essential to their well being such as doctors, medications, mental health care and reproductive health care, housing and transportation. These are not commodities that only a wealthy few should have access to. I want to make sure that all Tennesseans are ensured the right to basic human needs and the ability to care for themselves and their families.
  • I am running because all children deserve well funded public schools that are free from gun violence. Children deserve to go to school in an environment that is built for them to thrive, not one where they are distracted out of fear for their safety.
  • I am running because as a queer person myself, I believe all humans are entitled to live peacefully, love who they want, and worship how they choose without fear of gun violence or intimidation. I stand for, and fight for, these values because I truly believe that at its core this is what being an American should symbolize.
Affordable housing, livable wages, common sense gun laws, LGBTQAI+ rights, reproductive rights, affordable healthcare, better access to mental health care, funding public education, farming rights, voters rights, disability rights, public transportation that is accessible to all, environmental and climate rights.
I believe it is the responsibility of a district representative to know the needs of their community. They should be available and easy to contact for their constituents. They should listen, and pass policies based on the needs of all the people in their district, not just policies that align with their personal opinions.
I am on the Autism Spectrum and I have dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. I was diagnosed later in life and because of that school, and many aspects of life, were very challenging for me. However, because of this I am also aware of what my needs are to function at my best, so I know how important it is for others to have the opportunity to express themselves in a school or work environment. When people are given the accommodations they need, they tend to thrive and work harder because doing well feels very good. Having a disability is not a problem, the lack of our current society's accommodations are the problem.
