I'm an AfroLatina Milwaukee Native, a double alumn and current graduate student at UW-Milwaukee, and a Court Appointed Special Advocate. I've been a grassroots activist for the last seven years, and have worked to ensure that disenfranchised communities and their voices are uplifted and represented.
  • I'm running on a holistic child advocacy campaign, and want to ensure that the village assisting in raising a child is getting the support they need to do so. I want to do that infour different ways: expanding children's access to housing, food and education; enacting transformative justice; expanding access to healthcare; and stregthening the infrastructure of the fostercare system.
  • I can speak to lived experiences concerning my four campaign intentions, and I think that's important when working to push the state forward and collaborate on implementing innovative policies. It's important to me to utilize my privilege and lived experiences to uplift the community, their experiences, and their voices.
  • Maintaining a grassroots strategies famework when supporting District 11 will ensure that the community is centered and included in every decision made. Being informed through the communities input and keeping the community in the loop through the various processes that may occur
I'm passionate about child advocacy and policies that impact our youth's wellbeing and quality of life. Specifically, this includes education policy, criminal justice policy, environmental policy, housing, etc. I believe the best way to tackle issues within public policy is to pay close attention to the diverse ways it impacts different populations, especially children.
My values are Accountability, Compassion, and Transformative. Elected officials should be accountable to the ways they show up in the community and the decisions they make, they should lead and learn while centering compassion, and they should strive to enact transformative change. It is these three values that I believe align with the community's wishes of having elected officials they know they can count on and relate to.
I'm very big on communication and meeting people where they are at in life, versus projecting unfair expectations on them. With this quality, I'll be able to navigate tough conversations with constituents, collaborate on innovation strategies, and maintain accessibility to my constituents.
