Dankel served as an educator for 22 years prior to her retirement. She has her bachelor's degree from Millsaps College and her master's degree from Virginia Tech. She and her husband, Roger, have two children and are active members of Stonebridge United Methodist Church.[1]

At-large Place 6 incumbent Stephanie O’Dell faced Curtis Rath. Place 4 incumbent Amy Dankel was unopposed.

Sperry defeated Stanley for the Place 5 seat. O'Dell won re-election for the Place 6 seat, and Dankel retained her Place 4 seat.
