Amy L. Nickerson was a judge of the Orphans Court of Kent County in Kent County, Maryland.[1] She was removed from the court on April 21, 2021.[2][3]

Nickerson ran for election to the Orphans Court of Kent County.
Primary: She was successful in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 53.1 percent of the vote. She competed against incumbent Judge Harry T. Williams. Both candidates ran unopposed in the primary.
General: She faced incumbent Judge Elroy G. Boyer, Jr., Rosalie Brady Kuechler, Paul M. Showalter, and Elizabeth Carroll in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 20.1 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for three open seats.

Education
Nickerson received her bachelor's degree from Wilmington College.[5]
Career
Before she was elected to the court, Nickerson was retired from public service. Previous to that, she was the court clerk for the Maryland Second Circuit Court in Kent County for 23 years.[5]
