Amy McDowell

Amy McDowell was a judge of the 5th Circuit Court in Barry County, Michigan. She was appointed to the court by Governor Rick Snyder on June 17, 2011, to replace retired Judge James Fisher. McDowell was then elected to the court in November 2012 to serve out the remainder of Fisher's term.[1] McDowell retired October 15, 2019.[2]

Education
McDowell received her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and her J.D. degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law.[1]
Career
McDowell began her career working for the Barry County Prosecutor's Office. In 2001, after five and a half years at that office, she became a private practice attorney. She joined the firm of McPhillips and McDowell in 2003 and worked there until her appointment to the 5th Circuit Court in 2011.[1]
