An effort to recall two of the five members of the Creighton Elementary School District Governing Board in Arizona did not go to a vote in 2020. Amy McSheffrey and Annette Sexton-Ruiz were named in the recall petitions. Recall supporters did not submit petitions by the deadline.[1]
Both board members were up for re-election in 2020. Sexton-Ruiz did not run for re-election, and McSheffrey was re-elected in the at-large race for three seats.

Recall supporters filed the application to recall Sexton-Ruiz on January 22, 2020. They filed the application to recall McSheffrey on February 5, 2020. Both petitions needed 2,295 signatures to be put on the ballot. The deadline to submit the petition against Sexton-Ruiz was May 21, 2020, and the deadline for the petition against McSheffrey was June 4, 2020.[1]

Creighton Elementary School District is located in Maricopa County, Arizona. It is classified as a large city school district by the National Center for Education Statistics. The district served 5,904 students during the 2018-2019 school year and comprised 10 schools.[2]
During the 2018-2019 school year, 89.5% of the district's students were eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, 24.4% were English language learners, and 12.2% of students had an Individual Education Plan (IEP).[3]
