Biography
Amy Paschal was born in Rochester, Minnesota. Paschal earned a bachelor's degree from Macalester College in 1986 and a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1988. Her career experience includes working as a software engineer. She has been affiliated with the League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women, El Paso County Democratic Party, and Sierra Club.[1]

Paschal has two years of varied paid experience in the political sector including project planning, fundraising, data analysis, voter protection and working at the polls. Paschal has been an avid volunteer for the Democratic party for the last 8 years holding leadership positions in the El Paso County Democratic Party and the Colorado Democratic party and representing the party on the El Paso County Elections Canvass Board.
Paschal is a wife of 32 years and the mother of two adult children. She spent 15 years as a stay-at-home mom being present in her children’s lives and volunteering in their school.- Practical solutions over political slogans. The United States is a very polarized country right now which makes me sad. As an engineer, I believe we should be focusing on fixing problems that impact the daily lives of our citizens instead of focusing on winning the battle of labels and slogans.
- Integrity and Hard Work. Our elected officials must work together on behalf of our constituents, putting aside personal gain, hidden agendas and political biases. I believe I have established a reputation of someone who shows up to get positive work done on behalf of our community.
- Trust in our election system. Colorado has an excellent elections system which protects our democracy through fair, secure and accessible elections. We must combat election-denying misinformation aimed at eroding trust in our system.
2. Excellent environmental stewardship including fire protection especially along the Wildland Urban Interface and continued progress towards cleaner energy sources, at a pace that keeps prices affordable for the end consumer and maintains well-paying jobs.
Landing on the moon impressed upon me that Americans are innovative and resilient. We can overcome great obstacles through technology, persistence and working together towards shared goals. This is the America I love.
1. Ensuring well-paying jobs and affordable housing, education and healthcare are accessible to everyone.
2. Ensuring infrastructure catches up and keeps up with growth, especially mass transit.
