Ancer Lee Haggerty is a federal judge on senior status with the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. He joined the court in 1994 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton (D). He assumed senior status on August 26, 2009.[1]

On December 31, 2014, Haggerty became an inactive senior judge.[2][3]

Education

Haggerty earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon in 1967. He earned a J.D. from the University of California-Hastings College of Law in 1973.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments

Haggerty was nominated by President Bill Clinton (D) on November 19, 1993 to a seat vacated by Judge Owen Panner. Haggerty was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 25, 1994, on a majority voice vote and received commission on March 28, 1994.[4] Haggerty served as the chief judge of the District of Oregon from 2002 to 2009. He assumed senior status on August 26, 2009, and served in that capacity until December 31, 2014.[1]
