My name is Andre Peloquin and I have been an Edgewater and Uptown resident of our ward for just about 10 years. I believe in the importance of showing up, helping out, and advocating for the diversity and heritage that makes the 48th Ward such a special place. I am an educator at heart and a supporter of pragmatic and progressive politics throughout our city and state. I believe that we need to take an expansive view of the way communities and local governments work together so we can achieve practical solutions for our neighborhood’s residents.
  • Crime and public safety comes first and must be improved upon. The community must work with police and be involved in reforming what community policing looks like.
  • We must keep our neighborhoods diverse, affordable and welcoming to all. Safety, Seniors, Schools, Sustainability, Small Business' and Sidewalks are all interconnected and lead to thriving neighborhoods.
  • Common sense and pragmatic solutions and are needed in this era of political extremes. We need people to come to the table and be able to work together to bring tangible results to our neighborhoods.
Economic development and thoughtful housing development.

Our Environment and Climate Change.

City finances while maintaining and increasing public services.
Honesty and Integrity. Ability to listen and work together with people who don't always agree.
That our neighborhoods are in a better place then when I was first elected. In lowering crime, increasing economic development and opportunities, housing affordability, and the environment.
Meeting Bill Clinton and shaking his hand during a parade in San Francisco on his 1992 campaign for president.
Seasonal Warehouse Assistant. Many years during school summer break.
Aldermanic Prerogative: Zoning decisions are a little known power that Aldermen have and the importance of what can and cannot be build within the boundaries of the ward.
Yes. I have many years or working in campaign politics and the ability to work with others to achieve our mutual goals.
The ability to listen. A pragmatic thinker who is able to get all individuals and organizations to the table to hear what their needs are and work in collaboration to come to a successful and acceptable outcome.
