Campaign themes

2017

Adams' campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Infastructure
This is the most important issue for Northern Virginia in general. Manufacturers, distributors, consumers, and above all else workers all need infrastructure in order to make our economy run. Being stuck in traffic on Interstate 66 or Route 28 constrains our area from reaching its true potential.

Personal Freedoms
This is what makes us Americans. We believe that each of us in endowed with the right to live how we want to live. Republicans have persecuted the LGBT community for no good reason. Keeping these people from living the way they want to, makes our community worse off. Obsessing over two people of the same sex being married is an absolute violation of their Right to the Pursuit of Happiness.

Investing in Education
The youth of Virginia is our most precious asset. We need to invest in the next generation so our children can meet the new challenges ahead. Increasing the pay for Virginia teachers will draw the best and brightest minds to tutor our children. Let’s not stop there. Our guidance counselors have far too many students to be as effective as we need them to be. Increasing the pay and number of guidance counselors in schools gives our children more access to the current opportunities as well as serving as a window into potential mental health issues.

Redistricting
Virginia has some of the most gerrymandered State and Federal districts. Politicians should not choose their constituents but rather the people should choose their politicians. We should have an independent redrawing of our districts that more appropriately divides the state based off of geographic and urban factors. This is a path to more moderate politicians and a better represented Virginia population.[2]
