Andrew Austin
Andrew W. Austin was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He was appointed to this position on November 22, 1999.[1] He retired in 2021.[2]
Education
Judge Austin received a B.A. degree from the University of Virginia in 1982, a J.D. degree from the University of Texas in 1985, and an M. Phil. degree from the University of Cambridge in 1990.[3]
Career
Judge Austin began his legal practice in 1987 with the firm Vinson & Elkins, where he worked for about one year. In 1990, he joined the firm of Anson, Maloney & Cameron. He then worked with Sheinfeld, Maley & Kay from 1994 until his judicial appointment in 1999.[3]
