Andrew Benson
Andrew Benson is a judge of the district courts in Maine. He was appointed to the court by Governor Paul LePage on February 7, 2014. His appointment was confirmed by the Maine Senate, and he was sworn in by the governor on May 2, 2014.[1][2] Benson's term expires must be renominated and reconfirmed to serve additional terms.[3]
Education
Benson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine at Orono. He was awarded a J.D. from the University of Maine, School of Law.[1]
Career
Before being appointed to the district court, Benson served as a senior homicide prosecutor in the Office of the Maine Attorney General. Prior to October 1999, he served as an assistant district attorney in Prosecutorial District #4 for Somerset County.[1]
