Andrew Bremberg was the policy director for Scott Walker for America, Walker's 2016 presidential primary campaign.[1] Bremberg was also a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team, a group of advisors tasked with recommending presidential appointments for the incoming administration.[2]

Career

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

In 2001, Andrew Bremberg, under the George W. Bush (R) administration, served as the special assistant to the executive secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In 2005, he became the department's special assistant in the Immediate Office of the Secretary and, by 2007, had been appointed to chief of staff for the department.[1][3]

MITRE

In 2009, Bremberg joined MITRE. The MITRE Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. The group operates FFRDCs, or federally funded research and development centers, which research, develop, and promote the use of technology in defense and intelligence, aviation, civil systems, homeland security, the judiciary, healthcare, and cybersecurity sectors.[4] Bremberg served as the departmental manager for the organization's health policy division.[1][5]

Political career

Bremberg served on 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's transition team.[5][3] In 2014, Bremberg joined the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as a policy advisor and counsel. According to Politico, in his role as advisor and counsel, Bremberg was the liaison between Republican senators and conservative groups, specifically when senators took seats on nonpartisan boards or commissions.[5]

In 2015, Bremberg joined Scott Walker's 2016 pre-presidential group, Our American Revival. He was tasked with developing Walker's domestic and foreign policies.[5][3] He transitioned to Walker's campaign—Scott Walker for America—after Walker announced his official candidacy. Bremberg was appointed policy director.[1]

Bremberg was a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team in his first presidential term. The transition team was a group of around 100 aides, policy experts, government affairs officials, and former government officials who were tasked with vetting, interviewing, and recommending individuals for top cabinet and staff roles in Trump's administration. He was tasked with overseeing executive legal action, according to sources cited by Politico.[2]
