What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Top priorities I would focus on after visiting with many constituents in my district are the budget, traffic / infrastructure, smart development / growth.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about correcting our city’s budget issues and growing traffic / infrastructure concerns. As our city continues grow, we must make sure district 13 is taken care of and continues to be a safe and comfortable place to live.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I have called Davidson County home virtually my entire life (30 years). As an honors graduate from McGavock high school, bachelors graduate from MTSU and MBA graduate from Lipscomb University. My time in Nashville taught me there’s no limit to what can be accomplished if we work together. This understanding helps to shape my reasons for running. I’m running for council member of District 13 because I believe I have the financial experience, vision and family values to lead us towards a brighter and more sustainable future.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
Often times it feels like politicians become less accessible after they win an election. I feel that local government should be accountable and responsive to the people at service. I will make it a point to be out in the community speaking with concerned citizens on the issues that are important to them and affect them at a personal and local level.
What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?
Upon earning an MBA from Lipscomb University I worked as a national bank examiner for the Federal Department of Treasury (OCC). I have examined financial budgets and documents at the highest federal level. I would like to put that experience to use with our city’s budget.
