Andrew French (Kansas)
Andrew French is a member of the Kansas Corporation Commission. He assumed office on June 24, 2020. His current term ends on March 15, 2028.
Governor Laura Kelly (D) appointed him to the commission on June 12, 2020, and the Kansas State Senate confirmed him to the position on June 24, 2020.[1] French succeeded Shari Feist Albrecht, whose term expired in March 2020.[2]
Biography
Born in Kansas, French is a licensed attorney. Prior to his appointment to the state corporation commission, he worked as an attorney with Smithyman & Zakoura, Chartered, focusing on energy policy and utility regulation. French's professional experience includes working as a research attorney with the Kansas Court of Appeals and as a staff member of the state corporation commission, where he worked from 2012 to 2017 in several different positions.[1]
