Andrew Grainger
Andrew R. Grainger was an associate justice on the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the intermediate appellate court for the state of Massachusetts. Governor Mitt Romney (R) appointed Grainger, who took office May 4, 2006.[1] He retired June 17, 2017.[2]
Education
Grainger completed his undergraduate work at Harvard College and earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He also served in the U.S. Navy.[1]
Career
Grainger began his legal career as an assistant attorney general in New Hampshire. He was later a partner in the law firm Peabody & Brown and general legal counsel for the Recoll Management Corporation. Before his appointment to the Massachusetts Appeals Court, he was president of the New England Legal Foundation.[1]
