Haynes ran in the 2012 election for Oregon House District 47. Haynes was defeated by Jessica Vega Pederson in the Democratic primary on May 15. Thuy Tran also ran. Maggie Nelson ran unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. Incumbent Democrat Jefferson Smith did not seek re-election.[1][2][3]
