I live with my family here in Sun Prairie in Wisconsin. I moved around a lot as a child, but graduated high school in Milwaukee and earned a bachelor of Sciences from Carroll University. I attended law school at night in Washington, D.C. while working on Capitol Hill and then for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. While in D.C., I was elected twice as an advisory neighborhood commissioner, serving my constituents for a total of four years. In Wisconsin, I have worked as a Democratic policy analyst in the state assembly and then as an attorney at LawtonCates, S.C.
  • I'm a fierce advocate for protecting our individual rights and liberties. I will introduce an amendment to the Wisconsin state constitution to create an individual right to privacy to protect abortion, contraception and same-sex marriage. This amendment will protect these rights from any future legislature, governor or supreme court majority.
  • Strengthening our public education system is a priority. The responsibility for funding of Wisconsin's public education must be shifted away from localities and back to the state where it belongs. Expanding funding for wrap around services like Community Schools, early learning programs and quality childcare are necessary.
  • I am a strong supporter of Organized Labor. Unions provide good-paying jobs, excellent healthcare benefits and ensure a secure retirement.
I have been a consistent advocate for the decriminalization and legalization of cannabis.

I am passionate about protecting a women's right to choose a safe and legal abortion.

I am committed to passing policies to reduce the cost of pharmaceutical drugs and expand access to affordable healthcare.
An elected official represents the people that elect them and their interests first and foremost. To do that, elected leaders must listen to their constituents and prioritize their concerns over special interests.
I had a paper route when I was twelve. I delivered sixty papers each day afterschool.
Yes. I have experience at the local level as an elected advisory neighborhood commissioner, the state level as a policy analyst and legislative counsel and as a congressional legislative assistant on Capitol Hill. This experience will aide in being an effective and capable Wisconsin state legislator.
Yes. I have seen that personal connections and relationships help reach compromise and find agreement.
While not an elected official, Michelle Obama is an inspirational figure who used her role as the First Lady to help children across the country with her signature "Let's Move" initiative. Her commitment, intelligence and passion are an inspiration to me.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Wisconsin

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
