Receives six-month suspension (2017)

On March 2, 2017, the Florida Supreme Court ordered Decker to serve a six-month suspension, to receive a public reprimand, and to repay the cost of his ethics investigation. The accusations against him said he had conflicts of interest while working as an attorney before becoming a judge and that he had said he was pro-life at a Republican campaign event while running for his position in 2012. The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission recommended that Decker serve a 90-day suspension, but the supreme court decided on the longer suspension.[4]
