Andrew W. Maylor is the former nonpartisan Massachusetts comptroller of the commonwealth. Gov. Charlie Baker (R) appointed Maylor to the position, effective February 18, 2019.[1]

Maylor announced on January 28, 2020, that he would resign as comptroller, effective February 21, 2020, to become vice president and chief business officer at Merrimack College.[2]

Biography

Maylor began his career working in the private sector in 1985. In 1993, he entered the public sector, working for the Town of Winthrop. He became the auditor of the City of Chelsea in 1996. He was promoted to chief financial officer in 1997. Maylor became deputy city manager of the City of Chelsea in 2000. In 2002, he was appointed as town administrator of Swampscott. He served as North Andover town manager from 2011 to 2019.[1]

Education

Maylor earned a bachelor's in management science from Bridgewater State College and an M.B.A. from Suffolk University. He received his M.P.A. from Villanova University.[1]

Political career

Massachusetts Comptroller of the Commonwealth (2019-present)

Maylor is the 19th comptroller of the commonwealth. He was appointed by Gov. Charlie Baker (R) on January 16, 2019. The appointment took effect on February 18.[1]
