I’m running to represent Leander because I’ve invested my energy in understanding our community—its history, values, and challenges for the last seven years. My experience with city commissions and local foundations has given me insight into how to continue my service as your representative on the city council. My goal is to ensure we preserve Leander’s character while encouraging business investment and innovation. We can do that with Community Partnerships, Efficient Government Spending, and Smart Water Use. With my background in business development, sales leadership, and communications, I’m committed to securing a strong future that is centered on our quality of life.
  • Community Partnerships - I propose that the City of Leander create partnerships with community organizations to engage on projects that enhance quality of life through initiatives like local wellness programs, and educational opportunities. By co-developing public spaces, supporting environmental sustainability, and addressing local needs, these partnerships would contribute to a thriving, collaborative, and resilient community.
  • Efficient Government Spending - Leander should focus on maintaining a balanced budget, ensuring transparency in spending, and prioritizing essential services. We need to be prudent in our revenue management, investing in sustainable infrastructure, and promoting economic growth. The goal should be long-term stability, accountability, and the efficient use of taxpayer resources.
  • Smart Water Use - The city is addressing the supply of water and it is imperative that we turn our attention to smart water usage. Emphasizing conservation, efficiency, and sustainability. This will involve reducing waste through responsible consumption, investing in water-saving technologies, and promoting community education. Safeguarding this vital resource, we can ensure access for all while protecting ecosystems and ensuring long-term availability for future generations.
Ensuring representative government is exactly that - representative of all. City Council has the task of leading the community in a way that reflects the priorities of the community today and ensures that the community of tomorrow is addressing its needs without dealing with the cans that have been kicked down the road. The job also requires that leaders zoom out to ensure that as much of the decision-making process as possible is taking the bigger picture into account. That requires communicative and decisive leadership. A Collaborative Approach to Leadership is key to long term success.
The council has ordinance-making authority similar to a state legislature, within city limits.
This includes creating zoning laws, public safety regulations, budgetary decisions, and infrastructure development.
My Dad is my guideline. His ethical approach to life and people provides me with a standard for my own life.
Servant Leadership: Varied professional experiences, empathy, and the ability to come to a decision.
Consultative leadership, communicative representation, Subject matter curiosity
One that is quietly respected.
I was a waiter at a French Restaurant in El Paso, Texas. I was there for about a year.
I have many favorites, one is I am Spock by Leonard Nimoy. The book's title was a reference to the first volume of his autobiography, I Am Not Spock, which had been published in 1975. I find his story fascinating.
Because home rule councils aren't bound by rigid state statutes, they can respond more quickly and effectively to local concerns.
This local control can increase democratic participation, allowing residents to have a more direct say in their community’s laws and policies if leveraged properly.
Yes, but that should not restrict the type of experience. That should extend to commissions and advisories, provided that those advisories are empowered to assist in steering local decisions.
The illusion of choice by George Carlin. Google it; he tells it best himself.
