I have been a small business owner and resident of Andersonville for nearly a decade. As your State Representative, I will be a tireless advocate for commonsense public safety measures, fiscal responsibility, bringing down the price of healthcare, and women’s and LGBTQ+ rights.

I attended Berwyn-Cicero (Morton) High School, the least adequately funded public high school in suburban Cook County, and saw first-hand the devastating consequences of the way our state allocates school funding. I then attended The University of Chicago on an Odyssey Scholarship for lower-income students and graduated with honors in Economics, writing his Senior Thesis under the supervision of Nobel Prize winner Roger Myerson. After college, After college, I worked for the Mayor’s Office, coordinating projects for the Chief of Staff, and for the Illinois Restaurant Association (IRA), where I advocated for small businesses in the hospitality industry in Chicago and Springfield.

I opened TrueNorth Cafe in Andersonville in 2016, and know running a small business is no small task. With my experience working in public policy and navigating bureaucracy, Mayor Rahm Emanuel appointed me to The Chicago Mayoral Business Council in 2018, where he worked collaboratively with other small business owners to shape the mayor’s initiatives and improve supports for Chicago business operators. Locally, he serves in the Andersonville Special Service Area (SSA).
  • I am the only candidate talking about how to stop carjackings, make public transportation safe & clean, and end the epidemic of gun violence and mass shootings.
  • I am a nerd who will bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to Springfield on behalf of you and every other resident of the 13th District.
  • I am not accepting donations from lobbyists or special interests and am the most transparent and ethical candidate in the field.
