I grew up in small town Indiana where I learned the importance of Hoosier values such as honesty, reliability, accountability, discipline, and dependability. That's what drove me to be at the top of my class in high school and college at the University of Notre Dame and what drove me further to pursue medical school and become a doctor. I have always had a strong passion for helping others and have dedicated my career to helping those struggling with opioid addiction as well as serving veterans as a primary care physician at the Veteran's Administration. My passion for helping others and serving my community has eventually led me into politics where I feel I can serve an even greater purpose. I want to try to change the narrative of divisiveness that our country has fallen prey to and focus on working together on achieving commonsense policies that we can all agree on. There is so much more that we have in common with each other and unites us but society is focused on tearing each other apart and only focusing on our differences. It's time to find leaders who are willing to be positive role models both in their words and actions.
  • I am here to serve ALL people and not just those that vote for me or have similar ideological views. I use my experience as a physician when approaching problems and view them through a methodical, objective lens instead of one that is politically motivated. I believe all elected officials are public servants and should act as such instead of being beholden to special interest groups, donors, lobbyists, or even their own political party.
  • I am NOT a politician. I did not grow up in politics or even consider myself political until recently. I hate public speaking and attention of any kind. I hate the idea of fundraising and campaigning which are necessary evils in any election. I will not run any negative ads on my opponent and I believe that if you can't win on your own merits then you don't deserve the position.
  • I am an outsider in every sense of the word. I was adopted from South Korea as an infant and grew up in rural Indiana where no one else looked like me. I came from an extremely poor family and went to a college where the majority of my peers came from the top 1% of earners. I belong to the LGBTQ+ community where our basic human rights are still being attacked at all levels of government. I want to be the face of change and show others that no matter where you come from or who you are that your voice matters and you can be heard.

The coroner's office investigates deaths to determine the cause an manner of death and works hand in hand with law enforcement which is an integral part of our legal system.
I would like to be remembered as the best coroner that Allen County ever had not just for the job I did but also for the person I was.
The first major historical event that has been seared into my memory was 9/11. I was a senior in high school at the time and there was some sort of standardized testing that was going on for younger students so we had the morning off to do volunteer work in the community. I volunteered to clean the community pool where I worked in the summer as a lifeguard. When I returned home that morning my mother was at the front door crying saying that we had been attacked and didn't understand what she meant by that. I turned on the TV and saw the videos of the planes flying into the Twin Towers and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was almost paralyzed with shock and disbelief and didn't know how to react. I went to school for the rest of that afternoon and all of the teachers just had the TV's on in their classrooms to monitor the situation.
A coroner has the power to arrest the sheriff, and has the same arrests powers as the sheriff when performing the duties of the sheriff.
A strong coroner should have advanced investigation and critical thinking skills. They should also have strong interpersonal skills because they work closely with law enforcement officials, doctors, and the families of the deceased.
This office like all government offices should be completely transparent and fiscally responsible.
