Andrew Sommerman serves as Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins' attorney, suing Governor Greg Abbott in order to allow Dallas County to address the COVID-19 pandemic according to the advice of healthcare professionals. Andrew Sommerman is a longtime resident of Commissioner District 2. Andrew is running because he has a strong desire to apply his leadership skills to tackle challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, to assertively manage our public healthcare system, and to ensure intelligent and efficient use of taxpayer dollars. Andrew Sommerman is an election lawyer who fights Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression. He is endorsed by East Dallas County, Preston Hollow, Stonewall, Lake Highlands White Rock, North Texas Asian, Dallas County Tejano, and SD23 Tejano Democrats. He's also endorsed by Hon. Ron Kirk and Hon. Royce West. Andrew Sommerman is recommended by Dallas Morning News as the best candidate for Dallas County Commissioner District 2.

• As a voter's rights attorney, Andrew has been fighting for what's right for decades. He's been leading the fight against racist and gender voter suppression efforts. He sued to stop Texas' voter ID law and will never back down from protecting the right to choose.
• To protect our families, Andrew Sommerman serves as Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins' attorney, suing Governor Greg Abbott in order to allow Dallas County to address the COVID-19 pandemic according to the advice of healthcare professionals.
• Andrew Sommerman has the management and leadership experience in government as assistant city manager for Pantego, TX and his experience working for the United States General Account Office. He helped to significantly increase revenue for the town of Pantego and helped to ensure the financial integrity at GAO.
