Andrew White (New Jersey)
Andrew White was a candidate for at-large representative on the Clifton Public Schools school board in New Jersey. White was defeated in the at-large general election on November 7, 2017.
Biography
White is a police detective in Passaic, New Jersey, where he has worked for 24 years. Prior to that position, he was a police and fire dispatcher in Clifton. His family includes his wife, Christine, and their son who is enrolled in district schools.[1]

Three of the nine seats on the Clifton Public Schools school board in New Jersey were up for at-large general election on November 7, 2017. Incumbents Judith A. Bassford and Lucy Danny and former candidate Frank Kasper defeated newcomer Andrew White to secure the three board seats.[2]

White ran unsuccessfully for the Clifton City Council against James Anzaldi, Peter Eagler, Frank Fusco, Steve Hatala, Matt Ward, Dan Brown, Joseph Chidiac, David D'Arco, Frank Gaccione, Anthony Genchi, Matt Grabowski, Ray Grabowski, Joe Kolodziej, Roy Noonburg, Mary Sadrakula, Joan Salensky, Suzanne Sia and George Silva on May 11, 2010.[6]

White has cited his son as an important reason for his candidacy. He has pointed to his experiences with school security as a police officer as a source of insight for the job. Additionally, he has highlighted his experience with public relations and grant writing with the police department.[1]
