The first historical event that I recall is the 1989 destruction caused by Hurricane Hugo in the Virgin Islands. At the age of nine, I witnessed the immense devastation and the resilience of the community as they rebuilt their homes and lives. This experience profoundly influenced my understanding of community strength, the importance of disaster preparedness, and the need for robust public infrastructure to support recovery and resilience.
My first job was in the hospitality and retail/sales industry as a dishwasher then a pizza chef and waiter.
My favorite book is "The Autobiography of Malcolm X" as told to Alex Haley. This book deeply resonates with me because it chronicles Malcolm X's journey from a troubled youth to a powerful advocate for social justice. His story of transformation, resilience, and commitment to fighting for equality is incredibly inspiring. It provides profound insights into the struggles and triumphs of a dedicated leader, and it continues to motivate me in my own efforts to serve and uplift my community.
The last song that got stuck in my head was "One Love" by Bob Marley. This iconic song resonates with its powerful message of unity, peace, and love, which aligns deeply with my values and vision for the Virgin Islands.
One significant struggle in my life has been overcoming the challenges of disaster recovery, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricanes in the USVI. Witnessing the immense devastation and the impact on my territory is profoundly difficult.

Local Community Leaders: Various respected figures within the community who recognize my dedication to public service and community development.

Business Associations: Organizations that support my efforts to promote economic growth and support local businesses.

I believe that financial transparency is essential for building trust between the government and the public. He advocates for clear, accessible, and detailed reporting of government expenditures and revenues. This ensures that citizens can see how their tax dollars are being spent and hold officials accountable for financial decisions.

Government Accountability:

The importance of accountability in all government operations. He supports robust oversight mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the performance of government agencies and programs. By ensuring that officials are answerable for their actions, he aims to promote ethical behavior and efficient use of resources, ultimately leading to a more effective and trustworthy government.

I believe an ideal relationship of collaboration and communication is ideal between both branches of government.
Economic Development, Education, Healthcare, and making decisions that include generational planning.
In my opinion, the benefits are: Unicameral legislature provides room for a faster process of law-making and is applicable in moments of emergency, Unicameral legislature is easy to maintain, that is, it is cheaper to run than the bicameral legislature since there is no second chamber to maintain, Unicameral legislature does not allow filibusters to carry out their activities as they do when there is a two-chamber legislature, Members of a unicameral chamber are directly elected by the people, which makes it democratic.

Some Disadvantages are:
In a unicameral legislature members of the chamber can be unduly influenced especially by a ruling government that has a majority party.
Unicameral legislatures do not allow bills to be properly debated before they are hastily passed.

In a unicameral legislature, it is only one chamber that does all the work. There is no opportunity for assistance from a second chamber.
I currently have no position on redistricting at this time due to the fact that the Virgin Islands has never conducted one and has been working on its status concerning its constitution which has been forwarded to the constitutional convention 5 times. Districting has been discussed many times over and still seems to be a very controversial item.
