Angela Dempsey is a judge for the Volusia County Court in Volusia County, Florida.[1] She was elected to the court on August 26, 2014, and assumed office on January 6, 2015. Her term expires on January 4, 2021.[2]

Primary: She was elected in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 59.3 percent of the vote. She competed against Peter A.D. McGlashan.

Education

Dempsey earned her B.S., cum laude, from Florida State University and her J.D. degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 2004.[3]

Career

Prior to her judicial election in 2014, Dempsey worked as an attorney in private practice. She began her career as an attorney at the Department of Children and Family Services (DCF). She left the DCF to take a position with the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program in 2005, where she served until 2011 when she went into private practice.[3]
