I am a dedicated resident of Southwest Michigan, where I graduated from St Joseph high school and raised my children in our local public school systems. Throughout my life, I have been actively involved in supporting the community through my work and volunteer efforts. As an entrepreneur that owns a photography studio in downtown Buchanan as well as an online coloring book business, I have specialized in empowering women, using my skills to uplift and inspire others. Unlike a career politician, I am just like you. I believe that transparency in government is necessary in eliminating corruption and keeping the government working for the people. I have experienced the challenges of being a single parent and can empathize with the concerns many of my fellow Southwest Michigan residents face. I understands the worries about the economy and how it can impact both our businesses and our families. I believe that you deserve proper representation and I’m committed to working for you and your family, ensuring that you are able to lead a fulfilling and prosperous life. With me as your representative, you can trust that I will prioritize your needs and goals, working tirelessly to enhance the well-being of you and our community.
  • My campaign is dedicated to ensuring that workers' rights are protected and upheld. I believe in fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to organize. By advocating for strong labor laws and policies, I aim to create a fair and just working environment for all Michigan workers.
  • Agriculture is the backbone of our community, and I am committed to supporting and promoting sustainable farming practices. My campaign recognizes the importance of agriculture in providing food security, preserving the environment, and fostering rural economic growth.
  • I believe that access to quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunities should be available to all. My campaign is focused on advocating for affordable and accessible healthcare, improving the quality of education, and creating economic equity by addressing income inequality and providing equal opportunities for all residents.
I am passionate about protecting individual autonomy and Civil Rights, improving Economic Development for our small businesses, and providing a high quality Public Education for our youth with opportunities to continue education or trades for our young adults. I believe in investing in our future.
There are three people in my life that I greatly admire.

First would be my stepmother, who has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I credit her for helping to push me to excel in my education and the arts. She was heavily involved in my Girl Scout troop that I was a member of from Kindergarten through 6th grade. I watched her put herself through college while working full time, and moving up the career ladder while finishing her masters degree.

The second person would be my Uncle. As an openly gay ordained minister of the Christian faith, he taught me love and acceptance and understanding.

The third and final person would be Dr. Prudy Barrett Nelson. She is one of the most remarkable people I know, and I admire her courage and dedication to providing healthcare services to people in war torn countries long after she retired as a beloved pediatrician in the SW Michigan area.
Integrity: Elected officials should act with honesty and accountability. They should be trustworthy and fulfill their obligations to serve the public interest.

Transparency: Elected officials should operate with transparency, providing clear and accessible information about their actions, decisions, and the processes they engage in. Transparency helps to hold officials accountable and promotes openness in governance.

Responsiveness: Elected officials should be responsive to the needs and concerns of their constituents, and not just their affiliated party’s agenda. They should actively listen to the voices of the people they represent and be accessible and approachable.

Conflict resolution and diplomacy: Elected officials should possess strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to engage in diplomatic dialogue. They should be able to navigate disagreements, negotiate compromises, and build consensus to resolve conflicts and promote peaceful coexistence.

Adaptability: Elected officials should be able to adapt to changing circumstances and effectively address emerging challenges. They should be open to new ideas, willing to learn, and flexible in their approaches.

Diversity and inclusivity: Elected officials should embrace and value diversity, recognizing that their constituencies are often composed of people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. They should actively promote inclusivity and strive to represent and address the needs of all individuals within their jurisdiction.

Respect for the rule of law: Elected officials should uphold and respect the rule of law. They should be committed to ensuring that laws are applied fairly and impartially, and they should not misuse their positions for personal gain or to undermine the legal system.
I have over 15 years of experience as a small business owner. I took one of the most saturated markets in the world and turned it into a flourishing and successful career.

I’m an incredible networker. I joke that I collect people, but it’s so if I hear someone has a need, I want to connect them with someone that I know could help them if I can’t help them myself.

I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe is right, but I’m also not afraid to admit when I am wrong and correct my coarse of action. My open-mindedness and effective communication skills make me approachable and empathetic to my fellow people. I listen and then I look for a solution that works.

I’m a solid negotiator and mediator which is important when it comes to conflict resolution. I believe in the importance of humanizing my opposition and understanding their perspective.

I am a creative problem solver. I’ve made a career out of pivoting through challenges.

And I thoroughly enjoy researching topics and learning new things. I believe in challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone as often as possible, which has created opportunities for extreme growth both personally and professionally.

I believe all of these attributes would be beneficial to constituents who should feel safe knowing I’m approachable and dedicated to finding solutions that will make their lives better, and I will work tirelessly to ensure their individual rights are protected.
I want to reach across party lines to bring our people together so we can build a better today and even better tomorrow.
It was 1993, I was 11, when federal agents stormed the compound in Waco, Texas. I was living in Ft Worth and this was major news that we talked about at length in class, including the dangers of religious zealousness and cults.
I got my first job when I was 16, working at Hilltop Department Store in St Joseph. I joined their union and continued working there all the way up until the day they closed. I was also working at JC Penney during this same time, in addition to taking extra advanced optional classes and participating in Science Olympiad and POMs.
Untamed by Glennon Doyle, hands down. It opened my eyes to the various ways society indoctrinates us as children into the boxes we’re eventually forced into as adults, and what happens when we decide to free ourselves. It led to a lot of self reflection and shadow work, and ultimately healing. I credit it with shaping me into the wiser, more empathetic human that I am today.
Elle Woods. She’s got money, style, and wits—and she’s not afraid to take on the status quo.
I can’t recall, I have struck it from my memory so I could get it out of my head. 😂
Living with conditions like being on the spectrum, and being diagnosed with severe ADHD while also having Prosopagnosia can be tough, but I have found ways to overcome the difficulties they bring. It hasn't been easy, but I've grown stronger and more resilient in the process.

Being on the spectrum means that social interactions and sensory sensitivities can be overwhelming at times. It used to make me feel isolated and misunderstood, but I've come to appreciate my unique perspective, attention to detail, and creativity that being on the spectrum brings.

Dealing with severe ADHD has its own set of challenges. It's hard for me to concentrate, stay organized, and manage time effectively. But I've learned strategies like breaking tasks into smaller steps, setting reminders, and using organizational tools to help me stay on track and accomplish my goals.

Prosopagnosia, or face blindness, has made it difficult for me to recognize and remember faces. This has caused social awkwardness and made it challenging to navigate social situations. However, I've found techniques like focusing on other distinguishing features, using contextual cues, and being open about my condition to help me connect with others more comfortably.

Living with these challenges has been a journey of self-discovery and resilience. I've learned to prioritize self-care, seek support from understanding friends, family, or professionals, and celebrate even the smallest victories. I want to remind myself that I am not defined by my challenges, but by my ability to adapt and thrive despite them.
Economic Transformation: Diversifying the economy, promoting innovation, and investing in emerging industries like renewable energy and technology.

Workforce Development: Investing in education and training programs, bridging the skills gap, and fostering partnerships between industry and educational institutions.

Infrastructure Improvement: Upgrading roads, bridges, water systems, and broadband connectivity to attract businesses and improve residents' quality of life.

Environmental Sustainability: Protecting the environment, promoting renewable energy, and adopting sustainable practices.

Education Excellence: Addressing achievement gaps, improving graduation rates, and providing resources and support for schools and educators.

Health Care Accessibility: Expanding healthcare access, addressing disparities, and improving affordability and infrastructure.
Having previous experience in government or politics can certainly be helpful for state legislators, as it provides them with firsthand knowledge of the legislative process, familiarity with the political landscape, and a network of contacts within the government. However, it is not necessarily a requirement for effective governance.

Fresh Perspectives: Legislators without previous experience in government or politics may bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table. They may approach issues with a different mindset and be more open to considering new solutions.

Ability to Connect with Constituents: State legislators who do not have previous experience in government or politics may be more relatable to their constituents. They may have a better understanding of the challenges faced by ordinary citizens and be better equipped to address their needs.

Potential for Reduced Partisanship: Legislators without previous experience in government or politics may be less entrenched in partisan politics. They may be more willing to work across party lines and find common ground to achieve bipartisan solutions.

Independence from Special Interests: Legislators without previous political experience may be less influenced by special interest groups or party affiliations. They may have more freedom to prioritize the needs of their constituents over political considerations, leading to more responsive and accountable representation.

It is important to strike a balance between experienced lawmakers and those who bring fresh perspectives to ensure effective and inclusive governance.
Yes, I building relationships with other legislators is beneficial. Strong relationships with other legislators can enhance a legislator's ability to advocate for their constituents' interests and priorities. When legislators have established relationships and mutual respect, they are more likely to listen to and consider each other's perspectives and support each other's initiatives. This collaborative approach increases the chances of successful advocacy and the achievement of common goals.
Q: What did the hotdog say when it crossed the finish line?

A: I’m a wiener!

Gets me laughing every time.
I’d argue this is nuanced and would require a balanced approach.
I strongly believe in the importance of government transparency and accountability. For me, these principles are fundamental to ensuring a functioning and trustworthy democracy. I firmly uphold the idea that citizens have the right to access information about government activities, policies, and decisions. Transparency not only promotes trust between the government and its citizens but also allows for greater understanding and scrutiny of government actions. I plan to advocate for initiatives that promote information disclosure, open data, and public participation in decision-making processes.

In addition to transparency, I firmly believe that government officials should be held responsible for their actions and decisions. It is important that they are answerable to the public, especially if they fail to fulfill their duties or violate ethical standards. For me, accountability means implementing mechanisms that ensure oversight and checks on government activities. This can include independent oversight bodies and legal consequences for misconduct. By emphasizing accountability, I aim to foster a system where our government officials are transparent about their actions, take responsibility for their mistakes, and face consequences for any wrongdoing.

I am committed to promoting trust, integrity, and citizen engagement in the functioning of government institutions. These principles are necessary for building a healthy and effective democracy where citizens can actively participate, hold their representatives accountable, and contribute to the overall well-being of society.
