Angele Davis is a Republican candidate who ran for treasurer of Louisiana in the 2017 election. Davis was defeated in the October 14, 2017, primary election.[1]

Biography

A graduate of Spring Hill College and Louisiana State University, Davis' career includes time spent in management consulting and in the offices of two governors. Under Gov. Murphy Foster, Davis served as Deputy Commissioner of Administration, managing the state's budget, facilities, and human resources. In 2004, Davis was named Secretary of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, where she was responsible for promoting tourism and managing state-run parks and museums. In 2008, then-Governor Bobby Jindal appointed Davis Commissioner of Administration. Davis left the Jindal administration in 2010. In 2011, Davis joined the Davis Kelley Group, a management consulting and services firm. At the time of her campaign for state treasurer, she was the firm's president and CEO.[2][3]
