My candidacy focuses on transparency, accountability, and equity for all constituents. I am committed to creating a district environment where decisions are transparent, information is openly shared, and officials are held responsible for their actions. I believe every family should have equal access to resources and support within the district. By emphasizing these values, I aim to ensure that every student, teacher, and family in our community feels heard, valued, and represented.
  • Transparency and Accountability: I am committed to ensuring clear, open communication and responsible decision-making within our district. Constituents deserve straightforward information and accountability from all district leaders.
  • Equity in Education: Every student should have equal access to resources, support, and opportunities. I will work to address disparities and prioritize programs that lift all students and families.
  • Student-Centered Advocacy: With over 23 years of educational experience, I understand the needs and challenges our students face. I will work to create a supportive, safe, and inclusive environment where every student can succeed academically and socially.
I am deeply passionate about public policies impacting student progress, ensuring every student has the resources and support necessary to succeed academically. Equity in education is another top priority, as all students deserve equal opportunities and access to high-quality learning environments, regardless of their background or individual challenges. I am especially focused on addressing the disproportionate suspension rates among special education students; this issue requires policy reform to promote fair disciplinary practices and increased support for our most vulnerable students.
The most important characteristics for an elected official are honesty, integrity, and empathy—qualities that foster trust and inspire confidence. An effective leader must always prioritize the best interests of students above all else, maintaining a clear focus on educational outcomes and student well-being. Despite any pressures or temptations, it’s essential to act transparently and resist any influence that could compromise ethical standards or the district’s mission. Staying accountable to the community and consistently putting students’ needs first reflects the dedication and responsibility that voters deserve from their elected representatives.
The core responsibilities for someone elected to this office center on ensuring that we provide the highest quality education for our students and a positive, supportive environment where they can thrive academically and personally. This means upholding accountability in our financial decisions—making sound, transparent choices to use district funds effectively, so resources directly benefit students and classrooms. Equally important is to ensure fair and equitable compensation for teachers and staff, recognizing their dedication and commitment. Our students deserve a district that prioritizes their learning and well-being, and I am committed to making those values central to every decision.

A school board member's primary responsibility is to provide governance and oversight for the district, with a strong emphasis on student achievement. The concerns of the district’s primary stakeholders—the students—must be prioritized, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of every decision. Setting strategic goals and enacting policies focused on improving educational outcomes is essential. The duty of care and loyalty lies with the district and its board members to create an environment where every student can thrive. Additionally, it is important to hold the superintendent accountable by rigorously evaluating their performance to ensure they effectively lead the district and meet the community’s expectations.
Supporting the diverse needs of a district's students, faculty, staff, and community requires a comprehensive and inclusive approach:

1. Promote Equity and Inclusion: Ensure that policies and practices are inclusive and equitable, addressing the unique needs of all students, including those from minority groups, students with disabilities, and English language learners. This includes advocating for culturally responsive teaching and learning environments.
2. Provide Resources and Support: Ensure faculty and staff have access to the resources and professional development needed to effectively support a diverse student population. This includes training in areas such as cultural competency, differentiated instruction, and trauma-informed practices.
3. Engage with the Community: Actively engage with the community to understand their needs and concerns. This involves building strong partnerships with parents, local organizations, and community leaders to create a supportive network for students and schools.
4. Foster Open Communication: Create open and transparent communication channels, allowing all stakeholders to voice their concerns and suggestions. This helps to build trust and ensures that decisions reflect the diverse perspectives within the community.

5. Monitor and Assess Progress: Regularly assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Use data to inform decisions and make adjustments as needed to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

By taking these steps, a school board member can help create a district responsive to the diverse needs of its students, faculty, staff, and community.
The most effective learning environments embrace culturally responsive teaching and implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies. I prioritize inclusion, positive reinforcement, and immediate feedback, tailoring instruction to each student’s preferred learning style. Additionally, I advocate for shifting academic mindsets within learning partnerships, ensuring every student is fully supported and engaged in their educational journey.
To build strong relationships with parents in the district, I will prioritize transparency and actively listen to their concerns. I will advocate for parents whenever possible and work to establish clear, open lines of communication that are easy for them to use. We can work together to create the best possible environment for our students by fostering trust and ensuring parents feel heard and supported.
I strongly believe in complete financial transparency and government accountability. Constituents have the right to know exactly how their tax dollars are being allocated, especially when it concerns our schools and the future of our children. Government agencies should implement regular audits for school districts, ensuring that every dollar is spent responsibly and effectively. By making financial decisions transparent and holding district leadership accountable, we can build trust with the community and foster a school system that genuinely prioritizes student outcomes and equitable resources.
