My family came to this country when I was little and I have proudly woven together a rich culture of old and new for my kids. I am proud of where I came from but also where I now live, and want to help make FP a better place to learn, work, and be.
  • Every child deserves an education. Not some kids or certain kids, but EVERY child. We need to ensure that we can provide services for every student from PK-12 to meet them where they are at.
  • Every student deserves to feel safe at school, and every employee deserves to feel safe at work. Safety means different things to different people, yet the school district should provide emotional safety, physical safety, and any other kind of safety that will help everyone know we are all doing everything we can.
  • We must care for the whole child. A hungry child will not learn as well as one with food in their stomach. Students who work full time jobs to provide for their families don’t have time for busy work. We need to get to know the kids in our schools and the families in our communities so we can better serve.
Fully funding basic educational needs as WA state constitution guarantees.
I look up to my mother. She really is an amazing person, having brought us here from Argentina in the 70s. She left her family, friends, culture, and everything she knew so her husband and kids could be safe.
She has Alzheimer’s now, and it is sad to see the memories fade, but she still asks to go home to Argentina, so I know the sacrifices she made for us was huge. I want to be someone who loves and gives like my mother.
Those elected to office are chosen to represent the community and therefore have the responsibility to listen to people as much as possible. I love going to school events because people tell me things. They tell me when things are working and when they think things can improve, and I take that information back to the school board.
I would like to have made a difference for good, even if I am not remembered for the acts of service. I want people to feel a little better about themselves for having known me.
I remember being in my stand-along GT class during 5th grade, which was held once a week in the district building, and the associate superintendent ran into the room to tell us the Challenger exploded. My teacher then rolled out her old radio and we sat and listened to the radio for the rest of the morning.
My parents owned a pizzeria and I worked there for $2 an hour when I was way too young to actually have a job. I still make a pretty great pizza!
Like most bookworms of a certain age, I always identified with Scout Finch. My favorite line of hers was “Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.”
My primary constituents are those who live in District 2, but really it is anyone within the boundaries of Franklin Pierce School District. Whether or not you have kids currently in school, what the district does affects you.
I try to reach out to the minoritized populations in our district as much as I can, as I believe it is my duty to ask questions on the board that remind people of those that aren’t in the “status quo.” If you know of a group or meeting I am not attending that you would like me to reach out to, please send me an email.
Washington Education Association - Political Action Committee (WEA-PAC), Pierce County Young Democrats, FairVote Washington
My aim is to be as accessible as possible to district families. I attend as many events as possible, in a diverse pattern, so I’m not just attending sporting events or elementary nights but try to hit a wide swath to has me at every school several times a year.
I would like to see students taught how to use it properly instead of total bans. We can’t be scared of technology.
After raising my kids as a stay-at-home parent, I went back to school for my Master’s degree at the age of 40.
