Education: Our district has provided both of my sons the skills and foundation of education to push forward to brighter horizons in their studies at Wayne State University. This is a right that should be secured to every American, and it will be my mission to ensure that education is prioritized for students in our district and enhanced for its teachers. To do this, we must fight against the seemingly ceaseless budget cuts to our schools and reevaluate "merit pay" systems which use test scores alone to evaluate staff.

Healthcare: In my role as a doctor, my interactions with members of the community have illustrated to me that there is still much room for improvement in the healthcare field today. I've found that the current problems have tangible solutions that I will champion when in Congress. I've seen how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has changed healthcare for the better for my patients, especially those with pre-existing conditions or financial concerns. I also see how the ACA can be improved so it fully lives up to its purpose of expanding access to quality healthcare.

Jobs & Labor: Congress has said that they have been working hard to bring back jobs and work towards reducing unemployment, but Michigan hasn't seen meaningful action on this issue. I’m determined to change that by implementing policies and programs that will create jobs, grow the middle class, and help America’s economy flourish. My experience as a small business owner and job creator has shown me what to prioritize in the world of work, and my focus will be that your family experiences real, tangible change.

Women's Rights: Women’s rights are under siege in America right now, particularly in Michigan. I’m ready to fight for women's rights until no barriers exist to equal opportunity and success. We must ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work and are respected at every level. Though our country has taken a progressive stance on women's rights, our country still must move forward to ensure that paid familiy leave becomes a reality and that affordable child care is available to our hardworking families.

Medicare & Social Security: Medicare and Social Security represent a promise our country made to every hard-working American - retiring with dignity and security. I will not stand by and let these programs be dismantled or privatized. These programs are not entitlements; they are benefits Americans earned through years of contributing to our economy. America is not a country that goes back on its word, and I am the candidate who will stand by that promise.
