I was born & raised in India, where I graduated from Medical school and completed my residency in ophthalmology (eye surgery). Arranged marriage moved me to Canada where I pursued a clinical fellowship in Neuro-ophthalmology. We moved to the United States, where I was on H4 visa. My education was not recognized nor did I have permit to work. Within a year I was a victim of domestic violence followed by a bitter divore and custody battle leaving me homeless & pennyless. I obtained a student visa and earned my PhD. in Molecular Medicine from PennState University. Also, earned Masters in Health Administration from PSU. Lack of job opportunities and the inability to relocate with my children due to family laws I found myself on welfare for a while till I started a small buisness in Hummelstown in Oct 2013. As a small business owner I have worked other small businesses, served as president of the Hummesltown Business and Professional Association. I also started a non profit called Unity in Diversity with the misiion of promoting multi-cultural education and awareness. In 2017 I got the opportunity as Adjunct Faculty in Harrisburg Community College (HACC) where I have been teaching for 7 years now. I am also a tutor with Varsity Tutors. I became a citizen in 2018 and have been disappointed with the lack of qualified candidates on our ballot. So I decided to get activiely involved in politics in order to help protect our democracy, preserve our freedom and advocate for our rights.
  • Protect our Democracy.
  • Advocate for our freedom and rights.
  • Equity, Equality, Education, Transperancy, Accountability,
Women's rights for equal opportunity, equal pay, autonomy over our body.

Minimum wages for full-time work need to be living wages.
Safety from gun-violence and other crimes.
Equal access to safe and quality education.
Preserving our environment by providing clean water, clean air, renewable energy.
Affordable housing for all.
LGBTQA+ community to have equal opportunity in all spheres of life from education to job opportunity, housing to safe exitence.

Supporting workers Unions.
Elected officials represent their voters not lobbists or the few privileged people pushing their selfish agendas. Policies need to be made with the best interest of the people as top priority. Legislatures need to be drafted to protect our citizens and pave the way for a better tomoorow, and not to kick the can down the road. Elected officails with differences in their perspective need to have the ability to have civil discourse and work in a bipartisan manner, always keeping the best interest of the voters as top priority. Therefore an elected offical must have the ability to obtain creditable information, analyse date in a critical manner, be capable of thoughfully proposing legislature with the best interest of the citizen as top priority. Elected officals must also be able to predict and prepare for the pros and cons of all possibile outcomes from laws passed. They must be prepared to avoid consequences that can harm the people or the environement or the economy. Elected officials must have the courage to stand up to pressures put on them by people pursuing power or greed at the cost of the hard working tax payers. Elected officials must have shared lived experiences, empathy and compassion in order to advocate for the weakest among us. They must be accessible for communication with the people they represent and transparent about their decision making processes.
Core resposibilities included representing and addressing concerns of the voters. Advocating for continuously working to make the overall quality of life for voters better. Making sure taxes are resonable to meet the needs of the community. Doing this by allocating tax dollars prudently to improve the district infrastructure and emergency resources. Participate in drafting laws that address the needs and concerns of the citizens.
