Ann Bonney has served CT through a variety of roles in healthcare, youth programming, and education.

At ECHN, Ann supervised 4 departments: Child Life; Employee Child Care Center; Family Birthing Center renovation and marketing; and Parenting Education and Child Abuse Prevention. She was given the "Child Advocate" award by the community Child Protection Team. Ann co-developed the YWCA Time Out for Parents program that was recognized as a national model program by the National Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

Ann, as Exec Director of the CT Assoc of Mental Health Clinics for Children, worked on complex Medicaid managed care issues and lobbied for health and mental health care for all.

During her 14 years at Manchester Community College, Ann directed the Credit Free Programs in Continuing Ed. She was also liaison to the MCC Organization of Active Adults, with over 2000 members. From MCC, she earned the "Diversity Champion" award.

Ann's parents and late husband were small business owners, so she understands the challenges our Main Streets are facing. She helped to establish the Work_Space in Manchester, a co-working facility for artists and entrepreneurs.

Ann holds a Master's Degree from lowa State University and a Bachelor's from Cornell University, both with Honors. She has a large, loving family and 8 grandkids. Ann enjoys hiking the trails with her pup Teddy, skis every winter, and sails during the summer.
  • Ann will work to fully fund early childhood education, secondary education, and higher education—both universities and community colleges. Provide not only for students and educators, but for facilities, research, community education, and workplace training, too.
  • Ann will work to cut costs for her constituents.

Work with other legislators and industry leaders to aggressively reduce the crippling cost of electric energy in CT.

Cut taxes, fix the burden of the cliff on pension tax, and create tax deferral programs for seniors who want to enjoy retirement in place. Support small businesses with grants, loans and tax incentives to be successful.

Make technology training available for all residents, support businesses as they incorporate technology to improve their operations, and provide career training to provide qualified employees for local business growth. Regulate internet providers as a utility to lower cost and improve service and responsiveness to customers.
  • Ann will support Women’s Right to Choose and Healthcare - Ensure broad access to both physical and mental healthcare in our communities while expanding access to affordable health insurance. Offer tax incentives to businesses to incentivize and assist in the transition to employer-sponsored health insurance. Safe Communities - Make drinking water safe from radon, salts, lead, PFAS and other forever chemicals. Ensure schools, workplaces and communities are safe from bullying, discrimination, sexual violence, cyber threats, unsafe products, and climate change. Fight for common sense gun regulations. Fair Wages and Respectful Workplaces - Ensure every employee has the opportunity to work with dignity and plan for a rewarding retirement.
Ann's top priority is the welfare of children and families. The world is changing rapidly, but most are resistant to change. She enjoys helping people to identify what they want for their futures and planning to achieve that reality, rather that ignoring threats and allowing circumstances to define their lives.
Ann is passionate about the environment, creating business opportunities, listening to the needs and concerns of her neighbors, and developing solutions that uplift all Connecticut residents.

Energetic innovator with expertise in planning, organizing, implementing and directing effective programs.

Proven track record in grant procurement, training, program evaluation and management.

Committed to fostering the healthy development of individuals, families and communities.
Ann is committeed to working for a balance of business growth while maintaining the small town environment; safe schools with staff and programs to foster the best learning environments and prepare our children and adults for the future; thriving farms and businesses that provide opportunities, products and services to residents and beyond; assistance for newcomers to enter the workforce to help them and to ease our employment needs; healthcare for emergencies and everyday life that is available to and affordable tor all; continued help for families with crumbling foundations; attractive affordable housing to allow our children’s children to live in our communities, and our seniors to remain home; improving our infrastructure while improving our resiliency to cybercrimes, climate change, and threats; looking at how mass transit and pedestrian safety improve the lives of our families as we change demographically; respecting our veterans, diverse people, people with disabilities, dementia, or
mental health needs while supporting our police, first responders and care providers.
