A native Houstonian, Ann has been active in community life in Travis County for 27 years from her time as a student, lawyer, mom, and as the former Executive Director of Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO)-an organization known for its successful efforts to end veteran homelessness.

Ann's work in the community influenced her decision to run for County Commissioner of Precinct 3. She's ready. She believes that our issues are interconnected and require bridging distinct opinions, communities, and needs.

As an innovative leader, she collaborated with business executives, property owners and managers, law enforcement, hospitals, employment programs, and foster care to tackle our community's biggest challenges - from transportation to employment to housing.

Ann has been selected by peers many times and recognized for her leadership:

• City of Austin Commission for Women Hall of Fame, 2017 • One Voice, Chair, 2017 • First Tee of Greater Austin ""Respect"" Award, 2017 • Front Steps Community Spirit Award 2015 • Austin 100, 2016-2020 • Austin ISD Mentor of the Year, 2008-09

  • I will bring to the Commissioners Court my passion for people, innovation, and civic engagement to tackle these problems and overcome these hurdles-as I have throughout my career.
  • I am running to tackle the toughest issues we have - from wildfire to transportation to housing. I decided to run because Travis County deserves a leader who is an innovator, a fighter for those without a voice, and a champion of innovative collaboration who can get stuff done. Let's make Travis County a great place to grow up and grow old.
  • Travis County Precinct 3 is home to some of the most beautiful parts of Travis County - and some of my favorite places, too - including Barton Springs, a host of neighborhood parks, Lake Travis, and Hamilton Pool.
When elected to serve as Precinct 3 County Commissioner, I will take my responsibility to help solve the many challenges we face seriously. I'll also use my experience in bringing people together to help find innovative solutions to our community's biggest problems.

I'm ready to work to make transportation safer and more efficient, to restore affordability, to protect the environment, to ensure our criminal justice systems is fair and effective, and to care for neighbors in need. To do these things and more, we must leverage our statutory authority and assets, and develop strategic partnerships across the region.
