Ann Marie Torres was born in Kingsville, Texas. Torres served in the U.S. Army from 2008 to 2018. She earned a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in 2021.[1]

dedicated Texan hailing from the vibrant City of Kingsville, has committed to serving our community and beloved United States of America. Born and raised in Kingsville, a proud South Texan deeply connected to US Congressional District 34.

My journey towards public service began by a deep sense of duty and a desire to make a difference. A hometown hero, graduating from H.M. King High School and later earning a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies with a Spanish and Health minor from Texas A&M University Kingsville. Currently pursuing my graduate studies at Texas A&M University – Kingsville.

Notably, a retired United States Army soldier, having served with distinction in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad, Iraq. My service to our country was marked by dedication, selflessness, and unwavering commitment. Not only a veteran but also a trailblazer, in 2020, elected as City Commissioner of Kingsville, Texas, serving my community as the first female veteran to hold this position. Dedication to my fellow veterans' advocacy lead to becoming the first female Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2375 Kingsville and Texas of Veterans of Foreign Wars District 6 - Coastal Bend Area.

Married to U.S. Army Reserves Staff Sergeant Christopher Torres, a blended family of six children, 6 grandchildren, and a close-knit family that has a strong tradition of military service.
