Ann Schindler
Ann Schindler is a former judge on the Washington Court of Appeals, Division I, and a former presiding chief judge of the Washington Court of Appeals. She was appointed to the court by former Governor Gary Locke on November 28, 2001, and assumed office on January 1, 2002.[1][2] She retired effective December 31, 2019.[3]
She was elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2014.[4][5]
Education
Schindler received her B.A. from the University of San Francisco and her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.[2]
Career
Schindler began her legal career in 1978 as a lawyer with the firm Culp, Dwyer, Guterson and Grader. In 1982, she began working in the King County Prosecutor's Office and practiced in the areas of personnel, discrimination, and labor law until 1986. Schindler then became the lead attorney in the area of land use and environmental law. In April 1991, she was appointed to the King County Superior Court, where she served until her appointment to the Washington Court of Appeals.[2]
